| MARQUEE VENUES IN ESSEX
There are some magnificent venues in Essex that allow either a marquee to be sited in their grounds, or who have a marquee already on site that can be hired for Essex weddings, parties or corporate hospitality events. The following list shows the ones we have identified, and we will update this as others come to our attention.
Essex County Hotel. Aviation Way, Southend-On-Sea, SS2 6UN.
Mediterranean style hotel set in 8 acres, catering for both business and leisure clients. Has own marquee with stage, dance floor and bar for up to 300 seated guests. Normally only in-house catering allowed. Excellent conference facilities. Licensed for civil ceremonies, with choice of two suites. Wedding guests offered discounted accomodation. The Grand Marquee can hold up to 300 people and is an ideal Essex wedding venue.
The Springfield Marquee. Nr Harwich, Essex.
Furnished and fully equipped marquee for up to 120 people on 2.5 acre lakeside site. Approx £4000 which includes use of kitchen, toilets etc, but excludes catering which must be in-house. Nice Essex marquee venue.
Westwood Park, London Road, Little Horkesley, Colchester, Essex CO6 4BS
This magnificent Tudor style manor house (grade II listed building ) is set in 15 acres of beautiful grounds and gardens. 5 star quality and facilities for business conferences, weddings and private functions. Has own marquee for up to 150 (summers only) using preferred suppliers. Highly recommended marquee wedding venue.
Hedingham Castle, Bayley Street, Castle Hedingham, Essex. CO9 3DJ
Norman castle built c.1140 and still owned by descendants of original builder. Has 4 floors, magnificent medieval Banqueting Hall spanned by one of the largest Norman arches in England, and Minstrels Gallery. Special events during summer including Jousting Tournaments. Permanent marquee for 200 people available for most of the year using preferred suppliers and in-house catering. The castle has entertained many Kings and Queens, and you can be sure that you will be royally treated. One of the best marquee venues in Essex.

Early C16th Tudor house surrounded by ten acres of walled gardens, lawns and pond. Primarily a family home, which no doubt helps its friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Has 3 marquee sites (one near a lake) which can accomodate up to 300 guests. Free choice of marquee suppliers and venue. Outstanding example of an Essex marquee venue.
Mersea Island Vineyard. Rewsalls Lane East Mersea Colchester Essex CO5 8SX
Lying between two estuaries 9 miles south of Colchester, the present Vineyard was established in 1985, covers 10 acres, with 5 grape types and produces some 20,000 bottles of wine each year. Its own furnished marquee on paved area between the vines is available between April and September and accomodates up to 130 guests. Civil wedding license applied for. Unique, pleasant and fairly inexpensive marquee venue, ideal for weddings, parties, business functions, music concerts, craft fairs etc.
